Exceptional historic house dating from the 17th century in a charming village of Chalosse, between Dax and Mont de Marsan.
Easily accessible from Bordeaux, Bayonne, Dax and Pau... Gascony, the Landes coast and the Basque coast, Bearn and the Pyrenees are all centers of interest that gravitate around.
Renovated and preserved according to the rules of the art, the house, listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments, is of rare authenticity. The capcazal is a typical mansion of Chalosse. Built on a Gallo-Roman site, rich in a very great history and very little remodeled, the house still has many original attributes : entrance door and fireplaces, woodwork, tiles, various decorative elements...
Reassuring, both by its condition and its architecture, its large Gascon roofs welcome us and protect a building of 500 m² composed of:
> On the ground floor: a large entrance with its monumental oak staircase, a living room with its woodwork and its 17th century display cabinet, a bedroom and original floor tiles, a dining room and a large reception room on the south side with beautiful 17th century fireplaces a kitchen, a boiler room, a bathroom and several small rooms.
> Upstairs: a large landing distributes 3 bedrooms. In the center, the master bedroom, upholstered in a specially recreated 18th century pattern, opens due east onto the courtyard.
On either side, there are two other large recent bedrooms and a workshop area. An equivalent surface area can also be converted to the south and west. Work is required to modernize and/or convert. 300 m² are currently habitable and 180 m² are available in the raw state.
On a plot of approximately 5,000 m², the property, close to the village and in a quiet area, has a meadow and various garden areas. It is accessed through the magnificent gate opening onto the main courtyard formed by the house and the two 300 m² outbuildings housing an old press and a 17th century oven.
